This morning when I woke up these words were on my mind …“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) While I prepared myself for our Palm Sunday celebration at the Chiwoko Free Methodist Church that is located on our Bible school campus, I prayed for the many people that would be joining us. I prayed that we would all understand in a new and fresh way that God provided his son to take away the sins of the whole world through His Son Jesus Christ.
We celebrated our Palm Sunday with several different Free Methodist Churches from the city of Lilongwe. Over 100 people were gathered. Many walked more than two hours one way to celebrate with us!
As we entered into a prayer time during church, a loud voice
came from the back of the building. The woman cried in a passionate voice, “Zikomo Yesu, Zikomo Yesu, Zikomo Yesu” which means Thank You Jesus, Thank You Jesus, Thank You Jesus. Later, the woman testified that she was thanking Jesus for forgiving the sins of her past. Now she is FREE!
Praise God for answering my prayers today! We experienced Jesus in a new and fresh way. Many were reminded of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us as they participated in Holy Communion. Several participated in his death and resurrection as they were baptized. A mother and father brought their child before the Lord to commit to raising their child up in a way that would glorify Jesus.
We will not forget this Sunday for a long time. Our 5-year-old son Curtis (soon to be 6 yrs on the 16 of April) will also remember this Palm Sunday as the day he lost his first tooth! He was so proud as he pulled it out himself. After pulling it out he ran around the campus showing his tooth and the gap in his mouth to all the children and pastors who live on the campus. What a day!!
I love your newsletter and your blog! I'm a little late in reading them both, but I just wanted to let you know that I did, and that I appreciate the work you guys put into keeping up with them. I know how hard it is to do :) I love you and miss you!
